How to remove IB Updater (Virus Removal Guide)

What is IB Updater?

IB UpdaterIB Updater developed by Incredibar, otherwise known as the IB Updater virus or Incredibar Updater virus, is dangerous malware categorized as adware and a browser hijacker that modifies existing internet browser settings of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Internet Explorer, causing unwanted pop-up advertisements and redirections to sponsored search engines such as mystart.incredibar.com.

IB Updater installs as a browser helper object, add-on, and extension without consent in order to intrude a computer system, collect information, and generate a revenue stream via sponsored advertisements and search results. The information collected by the IB Updater hijacker may include complete browser and system activity to information manually submitted on line such as usernames, passwords, bank accounts, credit accounts, home addresses, telephone numbers, social media relationships, and more.

In some cases, victims of browser hijackers such as Conduit or IB Updater have reported excessive email spam, junk mail, and phone calls from telemarketers concerning their recent browsing activity and history. This concludes that IB Updater may submit users to third-party marketing and mailing lists without their direct consent or knowledge.

Victims of IB Updater malware often bundles with third-party items and has been reported to display unwanted pop-up, pop-under, drop-down, and coupon advertisements; especially third-party advertisements served from adware platform Coupon Drop Down.
