How to reset your Google Advertising ID – Android

reset advertising ID android

The Google Advertising ID (GAID), also known as Android Advertising ID (AAID), is a unique ID for advertising provided by Google Play services on Android devices. It provides developers with a way to implement personalized advertisements in their apps and websites.

The Google advertising ID can be reset by the user in order to clear personal data from being used to show interest-based ads. However, when the Google advertising ID is reset it will replace the current advertising ID with a new random number and you will not be able to find your old data unless you record your current advertising ID. So, make sure to take a screenshot of your current advertising ID if you plan to replace it with a new one.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2.  Tap Google (Google Settings).
  3. Tap Ads and Reset advertising ID.
  4. Click OK to reset the advertising ID and replace it with a new random number.

Did you know that you can also opt out of personalized ads to instruct apps not to use your advertising ID?
