An email message with ‘Activate your Amazon.com Card’ as the subject claims that you can get a $50.000 Amazon voucher if you complete online surveys.
A recently email scam claims that you can get a $50.00 e-voucher for Amazon.com if you complete online surveys. The purpose of the email scam is to phish the information you submit to the surveys such as your full name, home address, email address, and more.
If you received an email with An email message with ‘Activate your Amazon.com Card’ as the subject, ignore it. If you click links in the email message you will be directed to a non-secure survey-scam site, in this case http://surveyee.com.
The survey scam website contains a series of generic questions about your experiences with Amazon.com. It will also show you pop-up advertisements that bolster other surveys and ask you to call a telephone number with a reference number.
When you complete the first generic survey the page will say “That’s it, you’re finished! Thank you for your participation. ” and “While we submit your answers to the questions, we are searching our inventory to see which products we can offer you as a thank you for completing our survey. ”
It will then show you another page that contains a list of offers for allegedly free products. The catch is that you have to supply them with your full name, home address, telephone number, email address, and credit card details so that you can “pay them for shipping and handling” and retrieve the free product in the mail.
The free products are not worth the price of shipping and handling or giving your information away to online scammers. It is likely that you will not receive anything or that the products are cheap knock-offs.

?You can think of it as a factory-free zone, a mass-produced-free zone,? said Peter Faricy, the Amazon vice president who is overseeing Handmade.?For the first time on Amazon, we?re going to have a picture of the artist, a little icon of what state they?re from, what country they?re from,? he said in an interview. ?We?re going to launch with an experience that?s very different. Customers are going to see the difference.?
Handmade at Amazon is a move by the company to extend its reach into yet another corner of the e-commerce universe.
