What is Mezza?

Mezza is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and malware found in the adware category of computer threats that serves advertisements across multiple Internet Browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Mezza is also known as Mezaa.

Mezza adware and related items that this program may bundle with, including third-party browser add-ons and extensions often have permission to access and collect user information, such as browser activity and browser history, which is then used to serve targeted advertisements across multiple internet browsers while the user browses the internet.

Advertisements displayed by this program are generated in different forms (ie: banners, pop-under, in-text) and are often identified by text that says something similar to “Mezza Ads,” although these advertisements may be served by additional third-party adware and advertising platforms.

Mezza adware can install alongside freeware and can also be contracted by clicking on advertisements. In most cases, a user may be given the opportunity to accept or decline an offer to install this program and other items during the setup or installation process of free downloadable items disturbed across the internet; However, the request to decline the offer may be ignored and the adware will install without direct user consent.

6. Restart your computer by selecting Reboot.

CCleaner by Piriform

CCleaner can be used to automatically repair internet browser settings startup up settings, and uninstall Mezza adware and associated third-party software.

1. Install the free or paid version of CCleaner by Piriform.

2. Once installed, open the program and navigate to Cleaner > Windows/Applications and click the Analyze button. Afterwards, click the Run Cleaner button on the bottom right of the program interface.

How to uninstall Mezza
