WeatherChick’n

WeatherChick’n (WeatherChickn) is deceptive adware and a potentially unwanted program that is promoted as a free tool that can display information about the current weather. However, the program is entirely useless and displays advertisements across Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, and other popular web browsers. The unwanted program is also known to utilize deceptive marketing practices and advertising platforms in order to infiltrate a computer system under the guise of something it is not.

WeatherChick'n

Once the program is installed it will display a pop-up window on the bottom of Windows Task Bar. The window will contain the date, an image, and a button that says MORE WEATHER. If you click the button you will be directed to an affiliated search webpage that contains information about weather. The weather results may be inaccurate. For example, WeatherChickn showed me weather information for a city I am not geographically close to.

A concern with WeatherChick’n adware is that it may bundle with other unwanted programs, malware, and various unwanted files. The adware and threats that it may bundle with are usually downloaded from a questionable source. Downloading objects online including freeware and torrent files can result in potentially unwanted programs infecting the user’s system. Even if a program is well known and trustworthy, if you download it from a malicious site or using an untrustworthy download manager can lead to a computer infection.

Removing WeatherChick’n from your computer immediately is highly recommended. This program has a bad online reputation and may be the sign of a more serious computer infection. Use the WeatherChick’n removal guide below to completely remove this program and other threats from your computer.
