How to remove PC Cure+ (Virus Removal Guide)
PC Cure+
PC Cure+ (or PC Cure Plus) is a Potentially Unwanted Program that is advertised as a Windows Optimizer and Antivirus program. It claims to fix system errors, repair stability, and scan for and remove malware and viruses.
PC Cure+ is very misleading in the way it is advertised and the way it performs scans. Once it is installed it will scan for a variety of alleged issues on your computer and diagnose and rate your system using a rate out of 9.9 (10). The scan results will always claim that a very large amount of issues were found. It will say something like “Action needed! Immediate Concern: 5294 unwanted PC issues found. Removing all issues is highly recommended for your PC’s performance.”
The scan result will give you a chance to cure all issues. If you click the Cure All or Cure Now button you will be directed to a shopping cart. The program is not free to use and is very expensive. You will not be able to cure issues using this program without purchasing the program for a very high price.
The program typically bundles with and is promoted alongside other programs and files that are downloaded from a questionable source. Downloading objects online including freeware, torrents, and updates can result in potentially unwanted programs infecting the user’s system. Even if a program is well known and trustworthy, if you download it from a malicious site it can lead to a computer infection.
If the computer user has previously downloaded a suspicious program, PC Cure+ might have automatically downloaded in the background without permission. The user might also be tricked into accepting the download under the guise of a program update or something else. Malicious publishers sometimes hide the download behind a terms and conditions page, effectively tricking users into downloading unwanted software and files. In some scenarios a program you might want to install may be advertised as an extension to improve the user’s browsing experience in order to encourage a direct download or a necessary update for your media player, browser, or computer system. Regardless of how the system was infected, removal remains relatively unchanged.
