Update: KickassTorrents seized by feds and owner arrested
Yesterday we wrote kickass.to moves to kickassotnrrents.im. Now the website is on the move again to a new domain name from Costa Rica found at Kat.cr.
RELATED: Google Chrome is blocking access to kat.cr and other torrent sites
The Kickasstorrents Twitter profile has officially tweeted “KAT is moving to a new domain – kat.cr. You all will be automatically redirected from kickass.to to kat.cr from now on.”

Users who have visited the new kat.cr domain name might not be able to reach the new website quite yet. A “Sorry, the website kat.cr cannot be found” error and “This webpage is not available ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED” page on Google Chrome are currently blocking users from visiting the new domain. Don’t worry. It seems that the website is currently being configured to the network. In the meantime, internet users have been able to access kickass.to and past KAT domain names are currently redirecting to kickass.to.
Just a few hours after the new domain change, the Isle of man domain was taken down, forcing the KAT team to move to the domain to Costa Rica.
The reason for the move to kat.cr is because the Isle of Man Registry has revoked the new kickasstorrents.im domain name. “We have been seized by the Isle of Man domain registry. The new domain will be Kat.cr” said one of the KAT admins. A spokesperson for the Isle of Man Registry said “The domain was in breach of the .im rules and has accordingly been revoked. I cannot correspond any further in relation to this domain name.”
