Movies Tab (Virus Removal Guide)
Movies Tab
Movies Tab is a browser extensions that promises to help you find movies and celebrity content online, but at a price. The Movies Tab extension is known to hijack your homepage, new tab setting, and default search engine in order to cause browser redirects to blpsearch.com, search.yahoo.com, and other websites.
Once the Movies Tab extension is installed it will display a star icon at the top of your internet browser menu. If you click the icon you will be directed to their website which does realistically publish celebrity content.
Even though this extension may appear safe it is not. Movies Tab primarily bundles with and is advertised alongside other potentially unwanted programs and malware like WebDiscover Browser. These programs may utilize unethical advertising methods in order to persuade users to manually install them. Advertisements that promote this program and extension may claim that it is something it is not, such as a free media player or java update.
Movies Tab adware can also enter your computer or attach to your browser without your knowledge and consent. In some cases, Movies Tab adware will be included as a custom installation for third-party products such as freeware, download managers, and torrent files. It will automatically download in the background while you work on your computer after a third-party program or file has been introduced to your computer. Users may also be given an opportunity to accept or decline an offer to install this program.
