eSpeedDownload (Removal Instructions)

eSpeedDownload is a browser extension that hijacks your internet browser settings after it has been installed. The eSpeedDownload extension will replace your homepage, new tab page, and default search engine with an eSpeedDownload search webpage. Web searches conducted through the eSpeedDownload search webpage will then direct to third-party websites such as trovi.com and bing.com. An icon will also appear in the top-bar. The icon for this extension is the same color as a disabled extension which could make it potentially more difficult to identify as being enabled.

If the eSpeedDownload extension has been contracted, your affected web browser will start-up on a eSpeedDownload search webpage when you open a new browser window or browser tab. The web searches you perform in the browser address bar will also redirect to the same webpage. This is valuable to the eSpeedDownload extension and it’s developers because it allows the party to aggressively generate revenue through advertisements and sponsored search results. The developer will essentially receive currency or commission from third-parties via cost-per-click ads and search results. The more internet browsers the eSpeedDownload extension can inject, the more money developers of the browser attachment can potentially produce.
