There are many reasons why you may need to view hidden files and folders in Windows. You might be trying to access a specific system file, locate a hidden data folder, or reveal a file that was intentionally hidden.
Whatever your reason, this guide will help you view and manage hidden files in Microsoft Windows.
What Are Hidden Files and Folders?
Hidden files and folders are system or user files that have the hidden attribute turned on, making them invisible in normal file views. Many system utilities and applications create hidden files by default.

Why Are Some Files and Folders Hidden?
The main reason Windows hides certain files and folders is to prevent accidental deletion or modification. Many critical files, such as those in the ProgramData and AppData folders, are hidden by default to ensure system stability.
