How to remove SAntivirus (Virus Removal Guide)

SAntivirus is a name used to hide a rogue Windows Antivirus program named Segurazo. The name SAntivirus is used to provide a mask for the well-known malware in order to stay unsuspected. Other names for this malware include Segurazo Realtime Protection Lite, SAntivirus Product, and SAntivirus Realtime Protection Lite. This malware is often searched for online as “SAntivirus virus” although this program is not technically defined as a virus.

SAntivirus is one of the most well known malicious programs around. According to VirusTotal, numerous legitimate Antivirus programs detect and remove SAntivirus. Most legitimate Antivirus programs detect files associated with the program and categorize them as malware, potentially unwanted, trojan, and adware.

The rogue Antivirus program may cause many issues including:

  • Data harvesting resulting in selling or sharing personal information
  • Unethical marketing practices
  • Deceptive computer scans/results
  • Difficulty to uninstall/remove
  • Bundles with third-party threats (malware, adware, spyware, ransomware, etc.)

Users have voiced their frustrations with how difficult it is to manually uninstall SAntivirus. To uninstall SAntivirus in Apps and Features the user must restart their computers numerous times. This is a marketing tactic used by malware to make users surrender to the program and leave it on the infected computer. In addition, manually uninstalling the program will not remove every file associated with the program nor will it remove third-party malware, adware, spyware, and other threats that install alongside SAntivirus malware.

SAntivirus malware is dangerous and the most sufficient way to stop this specific threat is to use a reputable security program with real-time protection against active threats such as Malwarebytes Premium.
