Right Click Menu Customizer Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Chrome extension Right Click Menu Customizer published by botcrawl.com. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and how it is handled. This policy is specific to the extension and does not replace the general Botcrawl website privacy policy.

Summary

  • The extension does not collect personal information.
  • The extension does not sell data, run analytics, or track users.
  • The extension does not transmit browsing history or page content to botcrawl.com or to third parties.
  • Settings are stored in Chrome storage. A small optional diagnostic log can be stored locally for troubleshooting.

What data we collect

We do not collect personal data. The extension does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, precise location, browsing history, or page content for our use.

The extension does not include advertising, analytics, fingerprinting, or tracking scripts.

What data is stored on your device

The extension stores the following data in your Chrome browser profile:

  • Extension settings (stored using Chrome storage), including:
    • Whether the extension is enabled
    • Which menu contexts are enabled (links, images, linked images, selection, optional page menu)
    • Which menu items are toggled on or off
    • Whether divider lines are enabled between sections
    • Optional “aggressive link detection” setting
  • Optional local diagnostic log (stored using Chrome local storage):
    • Recent error or status messages used to troubleshoot issues
    • This log is only visible inside the extension Options page
    • This log is not transmitted to botcrawl.com

All stored data remains local to your browser profile unless Chrome itself syncs extension settings as part of your normal Chrome Sync configuration. Botcrawl does not receive this data.

How the extension works on webpages

Right Click Menu Customizer runs on webpages to display a Chrome-style right click menu. It uses the page context (for example, whether you right clicked a link, an image, or selected text) to decide which menu items to show. This processing occurs locally in your browser.

The extension includes a safe fallback behavior:

  • Shift + right click opens the native Chrome menu.

Permissions explained

The extension requests the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose:

  • Host permissions (<all_urls>)
Required so the extension can run on webpages and display the custom right click menu where you use Chrome. The extension does not transmit browsing history or page content to botcrawl.com.
  • storage
Used to store your extension settings. Also used for the optional local diagnostic log.
  • clipboardWrite
Used only when you click menu actions that copy content, such as:

    • Copy link address
    • Copy image address
    • Copy image
    • Copy selected text

The extension does not read clipboard contents.

  • downloads
Used only when you click menu actions that save content, such as:

    • Save link as…
    • Save image as…

Downloads use Chrome’s normal download handling.

  • scripting
Used at install time to activate the extension on already open tabs so users do not have to refresh pages after installing. This does not grant the extension access to restricted Chrome pages like chrome://.

Third party services

Some optional actions open third party services in a new tab:

  • Google Lens: If you click “Search this image with Google Lens,” the extension opens a Google Lens URL in a new tab using the image URL. Google may process that request according to Google’s own privacy policies.

The extension does not send your data to third parties for analytics or advertising.

Split View note

Split View actions are native Chrome UI. The extension can show or hide Split View menu items in the custom menu, but Chrome does not currently provide an extension API to trigger Split View directly. If you want the full native Chrome menu including Split View actions, use Shift + right click.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share user data. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

The extension is designed to minimize data handling. Settings are stored through Chrome’s built-in storage APIs. No user data is transmitted to botcrawl.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
