This Privacy Policy applies to the Chrome extension No Split View: Remove from Right Click published by botcrawl.com. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and how it is handled. This policy is specific to the extension and does not replace the general Botcrawl website privacy policy.
Summary
- The extension does not collect personal information.
- The extension does not sell data, run analytics, or track users.
- The extension does not transmit browsing history or page content to botcrawl.com or to third parties.
- Settings are stored in Chrome storage. A small optional diagnostic log can be stored locally for troubleshooting.
What data we collect
We do not collect personal data. The extension does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, precise location, browsing history, or page content for our use.
The extension does not include advertising, analytics, fingerprinting, tracking pixels, or third party telemetry.
What data is stored on your device
The extension stores the following data in your Chrome browser profile:
- Extension settings (stored using Chrome storage), such as:
- Whether the extension is enabled
- Optional mode settings (for example, aggressive compatibility options if present)
- Optional local diagnostic log (stored using Chrome local storage), which may include:
- Recent error or status messages to help troubleshoot menu behavior
- This log is only visible inside the extension Options page
- This log is not transmitted to botcrawl.com
All stored data remains local to your browser profile unless Chrome itself syncs extension settings as part of your normal Chrome Sync configuration. Botcrawl does not receive this data.
How the extension works on webpages
No Split View runs on webpages to adjust the right click experience. It replaces the right click menu on webpages with a Chrome-style menu and removes Split View entries from the link flow. This is done to prevent accidental clicks on Split View options and to keep common link actions easy to access.
The extension uses the page context (for example, whether you right clicked a link or image) to decide which actions to show. This processing occurs locally in your browser.
The extension includes a safe fallback behavior:
- Shift + right click opens the native Chrome menu.
Permissions explained
The extension requests the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose:
- Host permissions (<all_urls>)
Required so the extension can run on webpages where you right click links or images. The extension does not transmit browsing history or page content to botcrawl.com. - storage
Used to store your extension settings. Also used for the optional local diagnostic log. - clipboardWrite
Used only when you click menu actions that copy content, such as:- Copy link address
- Copy image address
- Copy image
The extension does not read clipboard contents.
- downloads
Used only when you click menu actions that save content, such as:- Save link as…
- Save image as…
Downloads use Chrome’s normal download handling.
- scripting
Used at install time to activate the extension on already open tabs so users do not have to refresh pages after installing. This does not grant the extension access to restricted Chrome pages like chrome://.
Third party services
Depending on the extension build, some optional actions may open third party services in a new tab. For example, if the extension includes “Search this image with Google Lens,” clicking that item will open a Google Lens URL in a new tab. Google may process that request according to Google’s own privacy policies.
The extension does not send your data to third parties for analytics or advertising.
Incognito mode
If you enable “Allow in Incognito” for the extension, the extension will operate in Incognito windows as well. If you do not enable Incognito access, the extension will not run in Incognito windows.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, or share user data. We do not use user data for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
Children’s privacy
This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
