What is Montera Toolbar (browser hijacker)?

The most common symptoms of the Montera Toolbar hijacker are unwanted browser redirects and hijacked homepage settings. How does Montera Toolbar infect a computer?
Montera Toolbar, alike other browser hijackers primarily infects a computer alongside freeware, shareware, codecs, and torrents, though many infections can occur by clicking suspicious links associated with compromised social media content, email spam, and advertisements.

1. Install the free or paid version of CCleaner by Piriform and run the program.
2. Once installed, run the program and navigate to Cleaner > Windows/Applications and click the Analyze button. Afterwards, click the Run Cleaner button on the bottom right of the program interface.
3. Next, navigate to Tools > Startup and search through each tab starting from windows, internet explorer, etc., all the way to Content Menu, for additional suspicious entries and click Disable and Delete once anything is found. Look for anything that may be suspicious or contain “Montera, Toolbar, or escort” in the title or filename.
