Desk 365 virus – Desktop 365

The Desk 365 virus (also found as Desktop 365 virus; though not technically a computer virus) is a potential malware application categorized as adware and spyware that utilizes unethical techniques to access a computer system, gain customers, and cause many problems for computer users relating to the invasion of privacy, loss of computer functionality, and rarely cyber crimes including credit theft, extortion, identity theft, and others.

Desk 365 virus

Desk 365 is promoted as a free application that can be manually installed and allows users to organize Windows Desktop; however, most users report that Desk 365 downloaded and installed without consent and that the application is very difficult to remove (uninstall). Desk 365 may even corrupt Microsoft Windows desktop and generate continuous Desk365 pop-ups that usually promote the standalone desk item. Some pop-ups may say “The shortcut has been moved to Desk 365 – Desk 365 helps to manage your shortcuts!”

Windows Desk 365 pop-up

Once Desk 365 is installed, the program will begin to alter existing Windows settings, change browser settings, display unwanted pop-ups on the bottom left and right of the Windows Task Bar, and will add an icon to the Task bar. Windows Desk 365 pop-ups may also display unwanted advertisements.

The Desk 365 also raises concerns in relations to related parties and items used to promote the application. Desk 365 and relating parties collect and distribute sensitive user information including your name, home address, telephone number, email address, and especially information users manually submit online while Desk 365 is installed including usernames, passwords, credit card details, bank account information, social media content, and more.

Associated third-parties may include users to marketing and mailing lists without their consent or knowledge. Victims have reported unwanted email spam, junk mail, phone calls from telemarketers at home, and more (often relating to recent internet browser activity and history).

How does Desk 365 malware get onto a computer?

Desk 365 can be manually and voluntarily downloaded from a variety of websites though most victims report that it may install without consent or use exotic techniques to attach to Microsoft Windows.

Desk 365 may also bundle with questionable third-party freeware and shareware such as VAF Player,r Vafmusic2, Optimzer Pro, Omiga Plus, and more. During the installation process of third-party or associated items users may be given the opportunity to accept or decline an offer to download and install the Desk 365; However, the request to deny the installation is often ignored or represented in a colluding manner.

Related software that often bundles with Desk 365 titled Omiga Plus may alter Windows Desktop as well, often replacing the existing desktop background and activating a confusing theme.
