Email claims they recorded you watching and downloading child porn

Your Happy new year gift you're compromised and totally exposed read now

A new sextortion email campaign is making its way around the web that claims to have recorded you watching and downloading child pornography. The message also says that they made you a member of Dream Market and Silk Road and to have recorded your ‘IP, crucial documents, contacts, social details, geographical details by Google map and your ip.’

Now I’ve got 3 recordings of yours

1) Watching and downloading child porno (criminal offence)
2) Made you member of infamous Dream Market and Silk Road (thinking to ordering some cocaine and guns in your name soon..)
3) Your ip , crucial documents , Contacts, Social Details , Geo Graphical details by Google map and your ip

The way the hacker was allegedly able to record videos of you and access your details is by use of trojans on your computer system that they have complete control of.

Now you have 2 choices

First dismiss this email and do not act then I simply go on after 72 hours and send those videos of you watching child porno to your all contacts, then i purchase drugs and firearms on your name and send details to authorities to allow them to arrest you and trust me they will..it will destroy your relationship, career, social life etc.

Last option is to give me $1000 and understand that it is as a donation and when I get the amount I will delete those videos and records which I have..and you can continue your normal life like this never happened

The email message claims that if you do not make a payment in Bitcoin within 72 hours that they will send ‘videos of you watching child porno to your all contacts’ and purchase drugs and firearms in your name, then send details to the authorities to arrest you.

However, do not be alarmed. There is no malware on your computer, there are no videos of you, and no one is going to order drugs and firearms in your name then report you to the authorities.

This is just one of the latest email scams messages going around. Email scams like this are very common and new ones appear just about every weekday. Yesterday, a similar email scam sent a message saying that your account has been hacked and your machine was turned into a remote device where they recorded you watching adult videos.

Here’s an example of the email message:
