Starbucks is not giving away a $50 coupon for their Anniversary
A Facebook scam and online survey-scam claims that Starbucks is giving away a free $50 Coupon to to celebrate their 45th Anniversary. The title of the post says “Starbucks is providing a free $50 Coupon to everyone!” However, this is not true; Starbucks is not giving away a free $50 coupon to people who share a post online or complete online surveys. This is a survey-scam designed to phish personal information. The scam is in no way affiliated with the Starbucks Corporation.

The scam can easily be debunked because of similarities to other scams such as the Ryanair is offering free tickets to everyone Facebook Scam. Starbucks was also founded in November of 1971 which makes it 46 years old. Not 45 as the scam suggests.
The survey-scam first directs Facebook users to a webpage on the http://com-cvsic.life domain (such as http://com-cvsic.life/Starbucks/?J79QJcU) and asks visitors a series of questions, such as “Have you ever visited a Starbucks?”
Once the series of questions are answered, the visitors will be directed to a new page that says “Congratulations! You have been selected to take part in our short survey to get a Free $50 Coupon at Starbucks!” The page contains steps that say “Share this page by clicking “SHARE” button and type “Thanks #Starbucks” in the comments field!” and to “Click Like” (to like a Facebook page promoted by the scam).

Once the steps are completed the target will then be directed to a new website such as surveysandpromotionsusa.com that contains a sequence of never-ending survey. The survey cannot be completed and they are essentially designed to phish personal information the target manually submits like phone numbers, addresses, billing information, and more.
If you come across a post on Facebook that says “Starbucks is providing a free $50 Coupon to everyone! to celebrate 45th Anniversary!” make sure to ignore it and to tell your friend that it is a scam. Share this page to inform the person that they will not actually receive a free $50 to Starbucks.
