How to remove SpeedCheckMe (Virus Removal Guide)

What is SpeedCheckMe?

The SpeedCheckMe virus (Speed Check Me virus) is not technically defined as a computer virus or an entirely malicious program. SpeedCheckMe is ad-supported freeware in the adware category that can be a nuisance for many internet users. SpeedCheckMe adware often obtains permission allowing the unwanted program to collect user browser data and target internet users with advertisements based off their browsing habits.

SpeedCheckMe

SpeedCheckMe will obtain permission to observe browsing habits such as all activities, text submitted into online forms, bookmarks, history, and more. This is why potential SpeedCheckMe malware is often referred to as the “SpeedCheckMe virus” even though this program is not technically defined as a computer virus.

However, the adware is known to be very damaging as it can modify existing browser and system settings (including system start-up settings) and bundle with or introduce other unwanted programs, malware, and malicious threats that can cause further issues. Additional items will possibly need to be removed to get rid of ads by SpeedCheckMe.
